God tells us that faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God, so this is why it is important to spend time in the word of God. on a regular and consistent basis, even daily.
Think about all the times you’ve heard stories, testimonies of other people in the Bible and their experiences with their faith in God and reflect on how you felt how you were encouraged, how you were motivated to believe God or to ask for a certain thing when you heard the testimony from other people’s experience, you may not realize it, but you heard the word of God through somebody’s testimony, and it built your faith so whenever you’re running low on faith, get into the word of God and ask the Holy Spirit to minister to you personally to build your faith, to speak to you about whatever situation is at hand to encourage you, and this leads me to my next point, and that point is when you read the word of God, read it out loud.
We just found out that faith comes by hearing the word of God, so make it a point to read the word of God out loud so that you can hear it. Take the word of God literally in this case. You can even listen to audios of the word of God. I know some people listen to audio of Bible verses and things of that nature at night time. It may sound crazy, but when you read something out loud, the information is more easily digestible and comprehension comes a bit easier.
My third tip is to rid yourself of the lies, opinions, and hearsay of other people that doesn’t line up with the word of God. So a great example here is let’s say there’s a married couple and they’re trying to conceive a child and perhaps the woman is 33. Well, we know that according to science, statistics, and others opinion biased from life experience — people are quick to say, “You’re too old”, “It won’t happen for you”, or “It’s not a good idea or something will happen to the child if you do.” These are examples of lies, opinions, and words that don’t line up with the word of God, while some people have experienced issues with children later in life, that does not mean that you have to accept that as your own story. In fact, faith would require you to do the exact opposite, and this is a great spot where you could find people in the Bible who believed God for something, and there may have been people that doubted or spoke ill, negatively, or adversely against what they were hoping for or believing the Lord for.
In this moment you have to reject those words, those perspectives, those opinions of people, because God’s word tells us that everything is possible to him who believes. He tells us that the plans of the Lord prevail. And God tells us that we can decree a thing and it shall be established as believers, so you can use your authority in Jesus Christ to speak over your life in a situation, people in your circle, your friends, your family, and so forth. And this is a great example where you use your faith, which we know as the word of God. I say that your faith is the word of God, because, again, earlier we learned that faith comes by hearing the word of God, so without the word of God, how can you build your faith?
So now is the opportune time to literally find Bible verses about what God says concerning your authority as a believer, or on a specific subject matter, start speaking, decreeing, and declaring those things and insert your name and your circumstances within the verse. Remind God of his word. Instead of believing what people have to say, believe what God has to say.
My fourth tip is to know what your faith does, how your faith works for you, the effectiveness of having faith. God tells us that our faith quenches the fiery darts of the enemy, so you literally need faith. Your faith is a tool. It’s your weapon. And when you know that your faith is a weapon, that makes it a little bit harder to grow weak in faith. It’s a loving and refreshing reminder that our faith is something that God intended for us to have. God wants us to have faith and in fact, our faith pleases him. He tells us that it’s impossible to please him without faith, so you need faith. It takes faith to have a relationship with God. It takes faith to believe in God for his promises. It takes faith to put out attacks of the enemy. God wants you to have faith, so if you don’t think about anything else today, think about what your faith accomplishes and how God intends for you to be faith filled.
And number five, my last practical tip for growing your faith is to is to use the blood of Jesus to wash away painful experiences, fatigue, and doubt that suffocated your faith or caused your faith to die out. Literally, pray this prayer. I declare and decree that the blood of Jesus washes out and saturates every place that has come to still, kill, or destroy my faith, every place where life experience would make it hard for me to believe the word of God. I choose to believe God. And I wash myself of those places with the blood of Jesus Christ, and I declare and decree, my faith is made whole and new in the name of Jesus Christ.
This is a powerful point because it can be easy to get in the mindset of, I don’t even want to try and have faith because I’ve been disappointed in the past or I have felt a certain way or maybe something didn’t happen the way that I had hoped.
I want to encourage you and bring refreshment that there is nothing God cannot do for you. He literally has blessed us with the blood of Jesus Christ and there is power in the blood of Jesus. You can use the blood of Jesus to cleanse, nullify, and protect yourself against the enemy or things that may come to deter you in your walk with Christ. So be encouraged today because I believe that as you’ve heard the word of God today, your faith is already increasing in the name of Jesus Christ.
